Microsoft doesn't want Java because it's cross-platform.
When Microsoft's plan to bastardize Java into a Windows Only solution failed, they pouted and now they are taking their ball and going home.
Microsoft wants a Windows-Only world, and will do whatever it takes to get there.
Yeah, yeah. There's a little support for other platforms here and there, but only where it makes Microsoft ton's of money. If it didn't, it would become another victim of Microsoft's Windows-Only vision of the world.
Now, I'm sure that Bill Gates' three Guardian Angels that float around ActiveWin will have plenty of remarks about this, but it's the way I see things and there isn't anything that will change my mind about it.
