MSNBC.com Confirms That Windows Media "Corona" Server Beta Delivers Significant Media Server Scalability Gains | |

Microsoft Corp. today announced that MSNBC.com -- the Web's most popular news site* -- has for the last two months been using the beta version of Windows Media (TM) Services in Windows® .NET Server, a core component of the upcoming, next-generation Windows Media platform, code-named "Corona." Over that time MSNBC.com has delivered more than 7 million streams to consumers worldwide using servers running the "Corona" beta software. MSNBC.com has also confirmed that using the same hardware, in one of the most demanding live production environments, this new streaming engine for Windows Media "Corona" already is delivering nearly double the scalability of the industry's most scalable server, Windows Media Services in Windows 2000 Server. | ||

| Actually, in spite of your irony, the fact that MS is a co-owner of MSNBC.com makes this statement more credible. Why? Because of the ties between the two companies could make someone question the reliability of the statement and therefore it should have been checked even more thoroughly than one involving two companies with no ties. |

Actually out of all the various news channels out there, MSNBC seems to be one of the best.
Yes, they do tend to be a showcase for Microsoft technologies, but their reporting certainly isn't biased. |

| I've been using Corona as well, as my own little radio station here, it does very well, a few bugs here and there, but it's still beta, and works very well. |

| #7, you will once you get into some real video streaming, because it has instant-on technology and it also doesn't have to stop and re-buffer over and over again (*cough* realplayer *cough*) |

Trade Wind - NOOOOO!!!!! I don't want more analysis and opinion, I just want facts. They'll just turn into another Fox News.
I guess I go back to watching CNN headline news, even if it does repeat itself after 15 minutes. |

| #10, you don't need a new version of WMP, it is totally server-side, has nothing at all to do with the client. |
