Microsoft's security patch for Outlook, which is designed to protect users from the effects of another Love Bug-style virus, has come under fire from no less a body than the US Air Force. In a paper to be presented at a security workshop in June, an assistant professor of computer science at the US Air Force Academy will deliver a devastating critique of Microsoft's approach to security in general and Outlook in particular. | ||

| Microsoft is right. If there's a program already on the user's machine with the ability to click the OK or YES button, then you have worse problems. BackOrrifice, root kits, etc are all much worse. If a cracker managed to install a malicious app on your machine, he wouldn't waste time clicking buttons, he'd be stealing your credit card numbers, etc. |

Well.... One can only be so precise with today's eqipment.
Secondly, it's not so much military might that wins a war, it's tactics. In Vietnam, we were in a quite crappy time (as well as Korea), with things like "Limited War" and whatnot, that kept us from attacking from other countries, while they just did what they wanted. Hell, we could have just nuked them to death, but we didn't. Finally, exactly who is it that won WW1, and WW2? If not for the US, Britain would have been demolished. |

Huh, as I recall, in WW2, the Brits were on the brink of being totally destroyed, as all other members of the Allies side could not fight. And the Russians were killing thier own men.
And I also recall that after WW2, the US spent billions of dollars rebuilding European countries, including Britain. And I also recall that the Brits had to buy our weapons. We entered the war supplying the British with arms, AND ourselves. Which is another thing that won the war, American production. |

#24, and Guam, and we for the most part control the Philipines.
You know, it's funny, just about every territorry held by England has revolted because of bad treatment. Sure, the Philipino's revolted against us, but that was because we lied about letting them be under their own rule. |

| JaggedFlame: Well, Britain is the size of a mid-sized state in the US, hence, they are a pretty small country in terms of area. |
