We have just posted our review of the latest Intel processor: the Pentium 4 2.53GHz and its adequate motherboard, the Intel D850EMV2. After having received the famous new Rambus PC1066 memory, we have been able to conclude our review thus it is, at last, live. Be sure to check it out to know how the new 533MHz Front Side Bus and Rambus PC1066 couple boosts performance thanks to the numerous benchmarks that come with this review. Below is a snippet from the review: Only a few weeks after having launched the fastest processor on earth, the Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, Intel now launches its new Pentium 4 2.53GHz CPU with a front side bus, faster than usual, clocked at 533 MHz. By doing so the Santa Clara micro-processor giant cranks up performance, one more time, and makes room for the appearance of faster chips by the end of the year. To support this new CPU, Intel has also launched a new high end chipset, the i850e, which equips the Intel D850EMV2 motherboard we will also review here. | ||

| By the time Doom III hits the market, this cpu should be in the sweet spot(pricing wise). Still trying to figure out the video card. |

| #5 - We would do, but a lot of the time AMD don't seem interested in sending out chips to us, so we're kind of stuck in a rot a lot of the time. We're working on it though. |

Don't worry, you're not alone :) I agree with you 100%. I don't get the current fascination for overclocking. I've seen guys spend HUNDREDS of dollars on cooling and other gizmo's to get the same performance they would have gotten just buying the processor rated at the same speed they obtained by overclocking :) I guess it's a Hobby :) TL |

Hey, I read that the upcomming P4PB PX333 with SIS645DX is going to be an intel P4 dream mobo. I am honestly considering getting one. Besides comment #12 what does everyone think of this upcomming VIA motherboard?
TOM's hardware said it was the sweetest mobo they had every seen and it was unmatched in features and stability when paired with the latest P4 against all of the current Mobo's. IT HAS an 8X AGP slot, (I mean thats going to rule for upgrading I believe). Well tell me what you think.... |

#23 - You would obviously be amazed at just how much of a difference a compiler can make. The performance difference is often a 2 fold decrease in execution time, especially on computation loops.
