Windows 8, the most recent version of Microsoft’s operating system, is the most ambitious and the strangest major product ever released by the software giant. Designed to run on smartphones, tablet computers, laptops, servers, and even supercomputers, Windows 8 presents its users with the same interface, with only minor variations, on any device. I’m super-glad we did Surface. I think it is important—and not just for Microsoft, but for the entire Windows ecosystem—to see integrated hardware and software. What a non answer... |

Ballmer: "All new consumer PCs are now Windows 8 based."
4 out of 5 new PC's we sell at our rural shop run Windows 7. The Lenovo's we sell have Windows 7 Professional preinstalled, but come with Windows 8 "recovery discs". I make sure our customers use network attached storage and image each machine using Windows 7 Backup and Restore. These all count as Windows 8 based computers according to Ballmer. |

| #3: our most common problem is the hamster powered iPhone chargers since 'lectricity is so scarce in these here parts. Nuke plant is only 7 miles away. That's a long walk for electrons. |
