According to some analysts, consumers just aren't buying into the Windows Phone platform, which eschews the standard, icon-based GUI in favor of a screen that's subdivided into squares that Microsoft calls Live Tiles. The tiles display photos and real-time updates from social networks, email, IM, and other services. In Windows Phone 8, Microsoft shrunk the tiles so users can see more of them on the screen at a given time. "The specs are competitive, with Nokia's focus on the camera/imaging technology a highlight. However, hardware hasn't been Nokia's issue; generating interest in Windows has," wrote Oppenheimer & Co's Ittai Kidron. | ||

Too bad both Nokia and Microsoft are poor at consumer oriented marketing. The phones look like top performers. Yet, they are likely to have little positive buzz, due to Nokia's horrible decision to fake (openly lie about) its PureView video and pictures as exposed by The Verge. How dumb can Nokia be to use high quality cameras to take video and pictures and claim the pictures were taken on their phone? Sure, they have apologized, but only after being caught. This would mean something if the Windows 8 phones were actually available for sale now. Yet I'll bet when the iPhone 5 comes out with last year's screen size these same "analysts" (and I do mean anal) will drool all over it. Now I haven't seen many people with the Phone 7.5 but everyone who has one usually loves it and says it's the best phone they ever had. |

| Android has a lot more development with options. WinPhones are coming in with a big disadvantage right off the bat. |

AW: I guess I have to spell it out for you.
Last year, 4 inch screens were getting old (for every other phone maker). This year, most smart phones start at 4.3 inch screens. We have the Galaxy Note which has a 5+ inch screen size. Nokia 920 will have 4.5 inch screen. So as I said, by showing up with last years screen sizes (as compared with other smart phones), Apple is still way behind in this area. Now don't you feel like a complete ass? Big LOL!!!! |
