| $199 sounds like a trial balloon BS statement. Microsoft is too greedy to sell a useful product so low in price. However, if they did they will likely repeat the stolen Apple sales that DOS, on relatively cheap PC hardware, gave them in the late 1980's and for the next couple of decades. People love a bargain. |

#2: Tablets are really taking off here and for the life of me I can't figure out why (at least from an ipad standpoint). The hoops you have to jump through to sync ipad with PC are silly. Like I really want to take notes with a Nerf dart the email myself the notes. It's a great consumption device but not a great productivity device unless you are in the field.
Maybe the Surface will change that. |

The article also said that $599 is the more realistic price.
There is no way I will pay $599 for a RT!!! $599 should be the price of the Pro version and the RT should start at around $299. |
