Sometime in 1998 or 1999, Internet Explorer (IE) became the number one Web browser in the world. It did so thanks to Microsoft illegally bundling IE with Windows. But, while Microsoft lost the anti-trust case, instead of being broken up as it was first ruled, Microsoft only had its hands slapped and Internet Explorer’s main competitor, Netscape, was destroyed. By 2004, Microsoft’s IE owned 95%+ of the Web browser marker. That was then. This is now. | ||

| I don't see myself ever going back to IE. Firefox and Chrome are much better. Even Opera is better than IE. |

I don't understand people using other browser the IE ?...
IE9 is fast, light, an does everything I need. Why the need of having a third party tool? |

I like IE9 and so far I haven't had any stability issues. Now for Windows XP I prefer SRWare Iron. Take Chrome and gut the the Google crap out.

I hate everything about IE9. It's design as a minimalist interface drives me nuts.
MS has completely lost the ball on UI design IMHO. IE, Windows 8, Windows Phone, the Zune, Office, all of it is just awful IMHO. |

| For me, it's a 2 horse race IE and Chrome. Firefox, Opera and Safari do nothing for me. |

Have you actually tried WP7 ? 3 of my friends have now switch from Iphone to WP7 because they like the UI, and the OS is blazing faster that Iphone. have you actually tried Win8 on a tablet ? ( I agree that the Metro UI on a regular desktop is painful....but on a Tablet ....WOW) This post was edited by EQ23 on Wednesday, November 09, 2011 at 07:55. |

| Larry, I agree. I dont like much if anything of IE9. I liked IE 8 much better. I am on the board with Office 15, trying to help there with design. I have a lot of stability issues iwht IE 9. |

Today in IE9, I noticed a change in the design of the tabs, sleeker more polished. Funny thing, the other day I thought I was in Chrome, no it was IE9.
FYI, I use all 3 browesrs. |

| Vegas Bob (And I love your username), when do you make the determination of when to use Firefox, say vs. IE? I use IE as my default, and when things break, I go to firefox... (Like, for example, I cant use ebay on IE) |

Re AWBobStein, I use Firefox only to download flash videos.
FYI: I lived in Vegas for a year, learned you either work for a casino or support them (or both), back in NY now. I did love all the the flash (no pun intended) of Vegas. |

| One thing about the design of IE9 that bothers me is the top border above the back arrow, why is it so large, with nothing in it? Plus the back arrow button also seems to large and prominent. |

| I also do not like how the page titles are hidden/cut off on each tab, rather than going on the top, like IE 8. |
