Microsoft Research and the University of Washington recently conducted a survey that asked whether avatars are appropriate for the workplace. We’re talking graphical representations of people for use in instant messaging, email, virtual offices and videoconferencing. You know, instead of actual photographs or video. | ||

I can see the choices now...
Little geeks in glasses with suits and ties. They will be totally generic in nature so as to not upset any one possible human being on the planet. Microsoft will single-handedly re-define Politically Correct with it's selection of available avatars, and like the smileys in Communicator, will be impossible to modify or add to. |
