Microsoft is taking legal action against Barnes & Noble and its Android-based Nook e-reader, which it claims violates its patents. Microsoft took another swipe at rival Google's Android platform March 21, with the filing of legal actions against bookseller Barnes & Noble and manufacturers Foxconn International Holdings and Inventec. At issue is Barnes & Noble's Nook e-reader, which Microsoft argues violates its patents. | ||

Seriously? Wow.. Sad, sad world we're living in..
Enough microsoft, shows your true intention in the world when you create asinine patents and then when it's released and created, cry IP.. I'm sure Amazon jumped ship and paid because they were scared of the might microsoft.. where-as B&N see this only as a scare tactic and is "fighting the man" and the system.. Software patents.. Get rid of them.. Kills innovation.. If it's a blatant copy of code, then yes go after them.. But it if does something the same way but the code behind isn't there, then f'off.. It's probably better written code to begin with.. MS, open your code and see how much as been copied from GPL software.. There's a number of things I want to release or update the existing design of, but won't because I'm afraid of possible licensing fees, corporations suing me, etc.. |
