When I recently took a look at the brand new Chrome 10 Web browser, the results for the latest release candidate of Internet Explorer (IE) 9 puzzled me because they were so bad. Some of my readers were more than puzzled. Some were outraged and accused me of deliberating trying to set up IE to fail. Please. I call them like I see them and, in my tests, the IE 9 RC was just dreadfully slow compared to the others. | ||

Unsure why people even bother using a RC in any comparison. it is not final. they haven't removed all the kinks in it.
Would you want to ben in a new jet that is a "Release Candidate"? :-) I looked at a beta in a VM that I was trashing anyways. saw it wasn't complete. Sill I poked around. And then I trashed the VM. Haven't looked at IE9 beta or RC since. |

#1 Actually, repeated test showed that IE9 RC (32-bit) is faster than Chrome 10 on Sunspider test.
Originally, he used x64 (much slower, since it doesn't have optimized JS enginge). |

Chrome 11 Dev is surprisingly quick and stable with its new JS engine. This post was edited by donpacman on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 22:06. |
