Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate Preview | |

Sometime in the coming days--perhaps even today--Microsoft will officially issue its near-final Release Candidate (RC) version of Internet Explorer (IE) 9 to the public. But in the days (hours?) before that release, a so-called "escrow" build of the IE 9 RC has leaked onto file sharing sites. (Thanks to Tom Warren of WinRumors for the tip.) So here's a quick look at this release in anticipation of a wider review of the actual RC, along with a few quick notes. | ||

| The beta seems to crash a lot on Facebook. Fortunately I have no friends so it's not that big an issue. |

| I love the marketing wording MS shows when programs or OS's install. In this case they promise a "fast, clean, more trusted web browsing experience". Compared to IE8, certainly. Compared to Chrome in a sandbox, nope. |

I'm using IE9 Beta exclusively. I’ve used ‘em all and this is the one I love, love, love!

| I've been using it without problems, even on Facebook. My only suggestions, allow user to move the "Home" button to the left side and why can't them move the window max/min buttons to the tab line, eliminating the wasted space above the tabs. Or allow it to be reduced in size. |

Compared to Chrome in a sandbox
Bobsireno, of all people here, should know that Google's Chrome and its vaunted "sandbox" do nothing on their own - that "sandbox" is nothing but a less complete implementation of Microsoft's own Securable Objects Framework and its companion UIPI brokering agent (another Microsoft "innovation"). Unlike IE 8/9, which does broker all add-ons, Chrome does not broker its plug-ins. |
