Microsoft ships 2 million Windows Phone 7 handsets | |

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Microsoft has revealed that it shipped more than two million Windows Phone 7 (WP7) handsets to mobile operators in the past three months. Microsoft has been extremely quiet about WP7 sales to consumers and the latest figure of two million handsets shipped - not sold - is something of a disappointment. Further comments by Greg Sullivan, a senior product manager at Microsoft, will do little to dispel suspicions that Microsoft's last ditch effort to save itself from disappearing in the smartphone market is floundering. | ||

My favourite quote: "Sales are an important measure, but for a new platform we think customer satisfaction and active developer support are more important indicators of how sales will be over the long term."
Too bad for MS that nobody else, including Wall St, thinks that way. However, it's a nifty way to spin the fact that their phones aren't moving. I just upgraded my work phone to a BB Bold 9700, but I would never, EVER buy a BB for personal use. I have no interest in iPhone, nor do I want to be stuck with this year's KIN, so Android it would be. |
