States Cancel Windows Demo in Microsoft Case | |

Nine states seeking strong antitrust sanctions against Microsoft Corp. on Thursday abruptly canceled plans to demonstrate the feasibility of one of their key demands -- a version of the Windows operating system with removable features. An attorney for the states said they had made the decision to avoid prolonging the case after Microsoft said it needed an indefinite period of time to prepare a response to the states' argument on removable features. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly had also expressed annoyance at the states' late introduction of voluminous supporting documents. "Our sense is that she's ready for this to conclude," said Tom Greene, an assistant attorney general for California. | ||

Well, if it wasn't already painfully obvious for you anti-Microsoft people, the states now have absolutely no chance of winning.
Judge K-K already was a bit anoyed with the last minute additions, but she expressed interest in the modular version, since it would certainly suggest that Microsoft was full of it when they insisted it was "infeasble". Well, looks like the it's the states that are full of it, not Microsoft. I wonder how many of my tax payer dollars this is costing me? |

#12, no, they are not discussing remedies, they are discussing weather or not the remedy that gets drafted should be aloud to extend itself beyond the case of IE.

#12 - I think the point is, after the incompetent arguments the states have put forth, K-K will probably accept the DOJ settlement.
