Users running Windows on Apple Inc.'s Intel-based MacBook laptops have long complained about how quickly they find themselves running on empty. "Whenever I am using Fusion [with XP] my battery life is substantially cut," wrote one typical MacBook owner last fall on the support forum for VMware Inc.'s virtualization software. "On a max charge, I am lucky if I can get an hour and 45 minutes compared to about roughly 4 hours without using Fusion." | ||

Apple is not a licensed Windows OEM, so there is no data upon which anyone may make an estimate. Apple authors the drivers used and Windows is run natively on a Mac.
Drivers, specifically those for video and chipset, would be areas where a licensed OEM would focus. It is understandable that Apple does not focus on Windows. Apple has its own OS to develop for. Advice: if you want to run Windows natively, get a PC from a systems builder and or an OEM licensed to build computers running Windows. If you want to get an Apple computer, run OS X and the software designed for it.... then ask yourself.. why is Apple adding a binary database to OS X to try and do the same things the Windows Registry does? Why are they 31 years late and about 20 years behind other commercial *nix distributors? We still live in a world where scientists are burned at the virtual stake and the mob I guess really does rule. |

Of course, the whole thing is silly and reminds me of how Bushies tried to demonize those slagging Bush by saying they were afflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). Anytime someone bitched about Bush, no matter how valid the complaint was, just throw the old BDS tag out there and dismiss him. Sounds like microbots are trying the same trick. Too bad it's so transparent. |
