Microsoft, analysts tell companies to kill Vista plans | |

The Microsoft executive in charge of Windows urged some companies this week to dump Vista deployment plans and shift to Windows 7, the operating system the company has promised to ship in the fourth quarter. "If you're just starting your testing of Vista, with the [Windows 7] Release Candidate and the quality of that offering, I would switch over and do your testing on the [Windows 7] Release Candidate, and use that going forward," Bill Veghte, Microsoft's senior vice president for Windows business, said in a keynote speech earlier this week. | ||

We have been deploying Vista without problems since its business release in 2006.
Businesses build to a baseline and according to plans, so there are never any surprises. Whether businesses deployed Vista, or not is going to be according to a wide range of factors, but ultimately it is determined by it being beneficial and appropriate for the business and its operations. The notion that so many try to perpetuate about a 'bad Vista' affecting these kinds of decisions is simply not accurate - that is not how it works and the there is no room for the subjective. Like so many others, we designed systems, developed our baselines, tested, deployed and sustained. According to these sober rules, Vista was not only good, it was great and certainly many years ahead of XP. |

I would guess 1000x more desktops run Vista than say ... Linux or OS X. |
