| Isn't that page a bit old? Anyway the future is here for Vista too and it's called Windows 7. People go on about how XP is dead but it's probably going to outlive Vista as far as usage is concerned. |

I would not be surprised if more Vista machines were upgraded to W7 than XP, at least in the short run. The transition should be less painful.
When Office 14 comes out there may be case for upgrading Windows XP/Office2003 as a pair, but at the moment it doesn't make financial sense. |

| Its disgusting, Windows XP is on almost 70% of computers still, to put it into extended support is wrong. Its should be main stream support until that figure drops a lot lower. Somebody needs to make Microsoft see sense, is it right to have most of the worlds computers without support unless you have a special support contract with Microsoft? I think not. |

I suspect that your definition of "makes sense" varies greatly from someone worth US$40,000,000,000. Send it to this guy: torvalds@osdl.org, and he will probably wonder why you care what a capitalist company like Microsoft does and tell you to use Linux. Me, I use what I need , both XP and Vista, and recommend Vista on all new systems. Later this year it will be Windows 7. Why be concerned about extended support of XP? You can still download critical updates for Windows 2000, a ten year old OS. XP will be remain supported with critical updates for a while longer as too many new netbooks are being purchased with XP installed. |
