MCE Tunes: iTunes content in Windows Media Center | |

Despite the fact that iTunes has been getting so bloated with so many features and functions, it's arguable still the best software to manage your music. And now there's a way to play its content, as well as using its play lists, in the Media Center user interface if you use Windows Media Center as your entertainment center. Proxure announced Monday its MCE Tunes software application that allows for a complete iTunes libraries access, including purchased music and video content, from within Microsoft's Windows Media Center (MCE) interface or Windows Media Player. | ||

Seriously? iTunes is probably the worst media manager I've ever come across. The only reason I have it installed is because I have a company iPhone. Given the choice, I fall back to a folder structure. One where I can actually have an album that's by several artists without being forced into a playlist just to listen to it in one go.
iTunes blows goats (apologies to all goat lovers), it's time for a change. Something that (on a Windows platform) doesn't take FOREVER to load and even longer to navigate. The UI needs overhauling...I'm a Windows user, sorry! I expect it to work like a Windows program, not like a mac app...if that what I can expect from a mac, then thank goodness for an alternative. |

KL; here, here. This guy is brain damaged or a Mac-o-phile. iTune sucks bad on Windows. On the other hand WinMediaPlayer is grand. So, when do I get an alternative for my iTouch?
By the way - can anyone explain to me why the stupid Zune doesn't use WMP? |

#2, I'm with you on this one... as much as I like the Zune software - it really is that good,
I do not understand why there isn't some convergence here... like give Zune software WMP's capabilities, or vice versa. I realize that right now, one title comes with the media player, but it seems wasteful to continue to go in two directions. As to iTunes... I could write a small book about our experiences supporting people in smaller businesses - business owners with notebook PC's and iTunes. It is just badly written on Windows. For the life of me, I have no idea why iTunes installs an add-on in Outlook. Given them a Zune and they never look back - which is what I do. It's a better value, and they like the interface and audio qaulity. |

As long as the MP3 files themselves are somewhere on my PC, I don't see how MCE tunes esp when its not free is specially useful. With Windows 7 Libraries, it becomes even less of a concern.

#3: You're just a walking, talking Microsoft commercial, aren't you? Why are you giving awesome Zunes to people who would probably be better off with music on their smartphone instead of having to carry around yet another gadget?

#6, Actually... it is more economical... it is far less costly to simply gift a valued customer a Zune, that it is to try and continually service and un-bake systems infected with iTunes.
I would love to see Win Mobile, Zune software and WMP integrated and wonder often why they have not done more in this area. I expect they will and I too, am frustrated at what appears to be the glacial pace at which progress is being made. |
