Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates clearly dominated the courtroom during his three days on the witness stand, legal experts said. But states' attorney Steven Kuney still managed to give the judge in the case some clues as to how an acceptable antitrust remedy could be crafted. Gates effectively portrayed the states' proposed remedy--which, among other things, would compel Microsoft to sell a stripped-down version of Windows, free of middleware such as browsers or media players--as ambiguous and impossible for the company to comply with. | ||

I have enormous respect for Gates for many reasons, and stuff like this is one of them.
Not that he could convince a courtroom (or at least a judge) of his point of view, but that Gates could transform himself from the person he was during his first testimony, to person he was over the 3 days of testimony in this trial, out of shear will. The man masters whatever he sets out to know. And I mean *masters*. Gates is a unique individual. Brilliant, and in my opinion, a genius. Please note that I never said whether or not I agreed with his testimony, so please stop typing your flame; I'm not interested. I've read 6 books on (or by) Gates (and 4 about Microsoft), so unless you've done the same (or know him personally), leave your comments to yourself. Gates is most certainly a genius. I've met a few people like that in my day.
I need a little light reading over the weekend, so I'll probably read his written testimony. :) |

Come on people... I was merely saying that most who criticize Gates really know nothing about him, and the source of their information is Slashdot drivel, which is frustrating to hear over and over again, especially when the reality of the matter is quite the opposite.
If you've read books on him (or, as I said, know him), then perhaps you have some insight. |

| soda - Read that bad boy carefully. No person in their right mind would argue that he is balls out right on alot of points. It sounds to me like he is ready to pack up MS and retire rather than go through what the NSPR says. |
