Firefox 3.0 Beta 2 Due by Year's End | |

Mozilla Corp. said developers have handed off the second beta of Firefox 3.0 to internal testing, and will ship the next preview of the open-source browser before the end of the year. The tentative release date for Beta 2 has been set for Dec. 21, said Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's interface designer, in a posting to a company blog Monday. "If all goes well during the testing, Firefox 3 Beta 2 will be released on [Dec. 21] in the early afternoon, Pacific Standard Time. You can track our progress on the Firefox 3 Beta 2 Release Checklist," Beltzner said. Mozilla dropped Beta 1 on users Nov. 20; a day later, Mike Schroepfer, the company's vice president of engineering, said the goal was to get another beta out the door before 2007 ended. | ||

| Why should Microsoft give Google more Microsoft ideas to copy. Better to keep the feature list of IE8 secret so Googles puppets can't steal it. |

#2: You mean like the IE7 innovations like tabs? It was good that Microsoft kept that secret, or another browser maker might have stolen that too. After all, they wouldn't want Opera or Mozilla to have tabbed browsing before Microsoft put it in IE.
What's that? Microsoft "borrowed" that idea from Opera and Mozilla? Nah. Couldn't be. Microsoft would never steal ideas from others. Never. It's not theft if Microsoft does it. It is innovation. |

Not really. Tabbed browsing exists for a very long time now. There had been IE GUI's in the market that added the functionality even to IE 4. |

Typical shill techniques. 1) Confuse the issue, without ever answering a simple question. 2) Answer a simple question with a meaningless and irrelevant question of your own that has nothing to do with the original question.

#11: You brought up tabs in post #3. Parker mentions that tabs were available in IE for a long time as an add-in. You posed the irrelevant question “Was this add-on from Microsoft, or a third party?”
I then suggested that that your statement was irrelevant because other browser’s functionality is in the form of third party add-ins. Finally, you decide to leave. Good! Now go away or I will taunt you a second time. |
