Adobe Systems wants to transform its flagship Photoshop software with an interface customized to the task at hand, a potentially radical revamp for software whose power today is hidden behind hundreds of menu options.
A new user interface will help Photoshop become "everything you need, nothing you don't," said Photoshop product manager John Nack, describing aspirations for the Photoshop overhaul on his blog Monday.
"We must make Photoshop dramatically more configurable," Nack said. "Presenting the same user experience to a photographer as we do to a radiologist, as to a Web designer, as to a prepress guy, is kind of absurd...With the power of customizability, we can present solutions via task-oriented workspaces," Nack said.

I don't know why, but for some reason "with the power of customizability" reminds me of "with the power of imagination" (a la Mr. Rogers, or roughly so)....

Guys, where's Lloyd? I wanted to give him a DGL-4500 update...
Haven't seen him here in a good week. Hope he's ok. Maybe he's on vacation :)

#5, Hey, TL - how is the DGL-4500 deployment?
I've been on the road all week - deploying new networks for new customers across several cities in new markets we've moved into. MS, lower AL, FL this week. NC, and NYC next week.
Didn't really intend to, but came down to help an old friend and began to service a lot of the need we saw around us - just couldn't leave people like they were [underserved] - so one thing led to another and we began servicing markets we hadn't really meant to move into.
Also needed to wrap up the Awin new UX design and keep that part of the team moving - UX is actually the hardest part of any application and really, once the DB design was done, we work from that perspective and - work flow and presentation - then add features. It proved to be very tough, but I think we nailed it - just took a lot of effort and a lot of study to get it right.
Thanks for asking - I am great - still on track to fulfill my goal: "Can't beat em? I'll just out live the buggers!" George Burns used to say something similar to that.

I wish I could give some sort of exciting, glowing report, but I can't.
And that's a good thing :)
There was no drama. It installed and configured just like any other DLink router out there and it works great :)
It's kinda cool being able to review all the router settings, Lan performance, wan performance, wireless performance, wireless settings, etc.... right there on the OLED.
We'll have to wait for SNB's review before we know hardware thru-put numbers, but I expect it to be at least as good as the DIR-655 since that seems to be the base hardware it's built upon.
I'll know more about wireless this weekend when I fire up the xbox for my usual 10 hour Tiger Woods marathon LOL

BTW... One gripe.
Instead of keeping the MAC filter the way it is in the DGL-4300, they incorporated the version used in the DIR-655.
You cannot tell it to apply MAC filtering to only the wireless side.
STUPID STUPID STUPID !
Oh, well. At least the AGL's are back.

#8, Hey, TL, how'd the wireless work on it? How's the sustained throughput?
I have some panels being dropped shipped to a BB in Pensacola, FL today for integration with WMC this afternoon, and I'm going to pick the D-Link up for a friend/customer back in the HAM [that's LA, or Lower Alabama speak for Birmingham - the smoke city]. He's getting a new WHS on Tuesday from us and wants to move up to a better router/WAP, etc... Let me know how it goes.
Good luck with the marathon - I suck at golf - only played once and hit the thing as far with the putter as I did a driver - not at all pretty or remotely impressive distance wise. Now, using the golf carts as polo ponies... now that was fun [although very costly]. I still don't believe that a golf cart wheel can cost that much...

I'll know more about the wireless after this weekends marathon is over :)
I really can't think of anything to relay concerning the setup. Just the usual (change passwords, set encryption, etc...).
They bumped the default DHCP Scope floor up from .30 to .100 on this model, so there shouldn't be any conflicts with most people's static IP assignments, assuming they are all under 100. It was an issue for me when they used .30 as the default, but only until I changed it.
I made a Visio PDF of my network here. Any way i can send it to you here?
TL
Oh, and one thing Tiger Woods 2008 has taught me it's probably a good thing I'll never be able to play real golf (spine fusions) because I got myself one mean slice LOL
