Viruses. Spyware. Identity theft. To the average ear, it all sounds like pieces of the plot to a bad made-for-TV thriller. In fact, though, these aren't soap opera elements. They're security threats, and they could cripple your business. "The vast majority of companies in the United States have less than 20 employees, and these types of companies have data that is just as important to protect as companies with 10,000 employees, such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, etc.," says Pittsburgh-based IT consultant Bob Stein, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and co-founder of ActiveWin.com.
