Microsoft Corp. Tuesday said it hasn't changed its original target of shipping 4.5 million to 6 million units of its Xbox games console worldwide by the end of June.
"We have not revised our original sales estimates at this time. We're very pleased with the launches in all three regions of the world," the company said in a statement.
It was responding to a research note issued by brokerage Soundview Technology Group last week.
Soundview analysts lowered their estimates for Microsoft 's Xbox sales to 4.35 million units from 4.6 million, citing a disappointing launch in Japan and a relatively slow launch in Europe.
