ZFS "will appear as a non-default, read-only format out of the box with write support possibly arriving as a separate update in the future."

Maybe that's why they don't advertise it as a feature. Windows crashing could be considered a feature, but MS doesn't advertise it as such :) TL |

#2--true... they're not pulling a WinFS, which indeed was a major disappointment. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or go mad (on behalf of developers) when they made fun of themselves and their unrealized "visions" (Hailstorm, Cairo, WinFS, etc.):
http://www.microsoft.com/winme/0706/29992/teched_.asx I think there aren't too many people that weren't hard on Microsoft for WinFS--you included, of course. Apple itself may not have hyped ZFS, but plenty of others did on its behalf (granted, nowhere near as much as WinFS). They may not deserve the same degree of criticism for ZFS, but that doesn't mean they're exempt from it, either. And for the Mac faithful that laughed endlessly about WinFS... well, who am I kidding? They're the Mac faithful--hopelessly irony-impaired. |

| Don't even get me started on that poor excuse for a media player....Quicktime. Computing would be much less hassle-free if it went obsolete. |
