Good. I am glad to see this. Dell needs to fight and fight hard.
Give me good reasons to consider your hardware.
1) Open channels with small builders and sell parts - compete with major distributors in this regard.
2) Cooperate with and develop a partner channel to support small business and work with local integrators.
3) Provide new reasons to buy from Dell - co-brand systems built up from Dell boiler-plate and leverage the skills deployed across the local integrator community in small and mid market cities.
4) Provide exclusives and compelling case designs and kits that will allow custom builders access to consistency and far greater products in terms of design and appeal than any other manufacturer.
5) Focus on unique designs that fully leverage the digital lifestyle - e.g. simple stuff like control software to work with and manage digital photos to wi-fi enabled LCD picture frames around a home - allow people to shcedule and deliver images and videos to their pictures - on top of "Windows Certified" devices - allow them to display notes, too, and menu options, etc...
Moms and Dads would love that and businesses, too - great ways to display advertising for businesses and "what's for supper" for Moms and Dads.
***Why Microsoft did not put such a control interface into Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate is beyond me - in other words, "Give me a reason" that actually is cool - actually does help me and that anyone can use.
