Thanks Bill, and Roy! After yesterday's rumors relayed by Paul Thurrott, it's now almost official! Microsoft is about to release Windows XP Beta 2, which will likely be build 2462a, to its testers (sources closed to the company said Beta 2 should be released tomorrow on friday at 9:00PM). Microsoft Corp. is on track to deliver the second beta of Windows XP to testers and test sites Friday, Brian Valentine, the company's senior vice president of the Windows division, has confirmed. In an interview with eWEEK, Valentine said it was "all systems go" for a Friday release unless a priority one bug, or "show stopper," was found. "But, as of now, there are none of these," he said. Beta two will be released to Microsoft's TechNet site, its MSDN subscribers and the internal standard beta test list, essentially reaching hundreds of thousands of potential beta testers.
