Despite what is posted here, it's not RTM.
There are builds, and every build that is released is RTM-ready. However, there continue to be new builds that are RTM-ready. This means effectively nothing. Every individual department has to sign off on the build before it's considered done. And then when everyone agrees, then it's RTM.
That's why we keep getting new -- and yet the same -- reports that it's RTM. There's no question that there are "RTM Builds" out there, but they are not getting signed off on. You don't have to believe me, but when any of those RTM builds are signed off on 100%, you'll know about it within hours, if not minutes from about a bazillion sources, Microsoft included.
The 8 November date is the internal "we must hit this date" event. That's the only reason that exists, to meet timetables.
There have already been two known "RTM-Ready" 6000-numeric builds, probably more.
So, whatever source saying only to Activewin that it's hit RTM is basically correct yet incorrect. They've produced a "RTM-qualifying build", which hasn't yet passed it's qualifying analysis from all departments.
So there's your confirmation. It's not "gold" yet.
