The feud between Sun Microsystems and Microsoft that boiled over Friday has been simmering for years.Sun filed a private antitrust lawsuit Friday against the software giant for its handling over Sun's Java software, among other issues. But the two companies have long been bitter enemies. They sell rival operating systems for business computers that power the Internet. The two clash over competing e-business software that companies use to build Web sites. Their rivalry even extends to office productivity software, with Sun pushing StarOffice as an alternative to Microsoft's popular Office. | ||

Anybody know of any Lawsuit tracking mutual funds? Maybe we could share in part of the settlement?

| Microsoft should figure out how much it has spent defending itself against these petty lawsuits (including the Anti-trust lawsuit) and determine the average cost per copy of software it has passed on to the consumers and encourage consumers to file class action lawsuits against the DOJ and Sun for artificially increasing price and harming consumers. |

| Why limit it to a BILLION dollars. Just go ahead and make it a ZILLION dollars. I really wish Bill Gates would just write those bastards a check for the full amount TOMORROW. Then MS could just destroy them. They would waste their billion bucks within a year on some Ellison dream or another. You know, it must be hard on Ellison... to want so badly to be a visionary... yet suffer from such stigmatism. |
