Microsoft has recently released two new hotfixes for Windows XP. We recommend you to download and install these pacthes only if you are affected by the issues described below: Original Keyboard Layout Appears after You Configure a New Default Input Method Editor (IME): Microsoft has released an update that addresses the "Original Keyboard Layout Appears after You Configure a New Default Input Method Editor (IME)" issue in Windows XP, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q318388. Download now to prevent the origianl keyboard layout from appearing after you configure a new default Input Method Editor. System Recovery Error Appears After Every Reboot: Microsoft has released a patch that addresses the "System has recovered from a serious error" issue in Windows XP, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q317277. Download now to prevent this message from occurring each time the machine boots. | ||

| I think you can fix that problem by locking your toolbars. I stopped having that problem after I locked my toolbars and my taskbar. Give it a try. Turn your status bars on. Right click on the taskbar and select "Lock the Taskbar". Then right click on IE's toolbar and choose "Lock the Toolbars". Reboot the PC and see if that solves your problem. |

I have the status bar issue on all 12 of my desktops. Just to throw those two cents in.
As far as another issue though... anyone have a problem with a "phantom" window that pops up every now and then? The toolbar icon will be a folder, with no name. It will gray out about 90% of the desktop screen. The only way to close the folder window is to log out and log back in. Or, you can press Window-D to get to the desktop but the folder will forever remain open on the taskbar. Happens on all my machines as well. Just curious if anyone else sees this one. I've noticed it tends to happen while you are working quick amongst windows. |
