As far as I see, they still have the same problem. And they are still basically offering a recall--just saying that it's not a recall. So, I would say this is the cherry on top, since enforcer had the most valid comeback yesterday--Sony had similar problems, but they did not treat it publicly and openly. So, basically, MS has the same problems, denies it, admits it, and now says they aren't recalling Xboxes.

You have a known problem with your product. You say that you will accept any returns if you experience the defect without the same requirements you would require if someone complained about an issue that you did not feel was a product flaw. That is a recall.
I use Windows more than my preferred environment. I am likely to be using MS products 60 hours a week. My home computing system has no MS products but I only use it about 20-30 hours tops. I stay informed about both my communities. I express my likes and dislikes, character, whoever you are.

z00k, if you think a restaurant service is a relevant analogy, well, than, there's no arguing with you. That sure is funny though. Pretty retarded too, but whatever. Do you think they know they forgot? No, I don't, they forgot. Does the McD Board sit around saying we know that 1% of our burgers are getting served without ketchup, let's have a policy--or are you just nuts? Would they accept the burger back? Probably. But have they informed people of the problem and said please return all un-ketchupped burgers? No. (Sorry about the jabs, but that is simply a ridiculous analogy and rebuttal.)
What MS did yesterday was announce a recall policy; that policy hasn't changed, they are just saying it's not a "recall."

No, in no way does a recall have to be all products. Yesterdy, when we were discussing it as a recall, I was never under the illusion that it was all products, just defective ones.
If you state a known issue, say all products with that issue can be returned and replaced without question, and differs from other quality issues that you don't treat as defect, that is a recall.

z00k, if you go to health-related sites, they are going to have health-related definitions. Especially, since these are their definitions for when they would impose a recall on another company. There are tons of recalls for non-health reasons -- Dell laptops with crap batteries, Apple Cubes with fault lines (see I can be critical of stuff I like to). But I guess that escapes you.
Anyway, "Action taken by a firm to either remove a product from the market or to conduct a field correction." That sounds applicable to me--oh yeah, they are actually just putting the same product back on the market so they aren't making a field correction.

Did anyone yesterday beleive that every single XBox was being shipped back to MS? If you did, I don't know what you were reading. Yesterday, I believed it to mean if you discover a problem then you can send it back. I still beleive that today. So the only thing that changed was the reporting of it, not the content of the event.

Why do you all give such a sh1t. All I have said today is that what I believed to be the case yesterday is still the case today. That individuals who experience problems can have them replaced without question. I never believed all products needed to be returned. Yesterday, nobody was saying there are no health issues concerned so this is not a recall--that's just pure idiocy by the way, there are many recalls happening all the time that only have to do with defective products and if you play ignorance to that, that's exactly the reason I'm so insistent.
As I have said already many times--nothing changed today from yesterday except how Microsoft is wording it. If you don't agree with that, whatever. If you do, it's still nothing to get your panties in a bunch.
