Adobe, Symantec ask EU to ban Vista bundling | |

Two U.S. software firms are asking the European Commission to take action against Microsoft's new Vista operating system, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. Adobe Systems has told EU regulators that Microsoft should be banned from incorporating free competing software for reading and creating electronic documents with Vista, the paper said, quoting people familiar with the situation. Antivirus software maker Symantec will send officials to Brussels, Belgium, next week to brief journalists about features of Vista that it says will undercut rival makers of computer security software, the paper said. | ||

What a joke. What's next... the makers of PowerDesk complaining that Explorer undercuts their market? Will Adobe sue to have Paint removed and the makers of Chessmaster to have the new chess game pulled? What's even sadder, though, is that these companies have a willing accomplice in the EU that is willing to entertain any ridiculous idea.
"The Commission, Europe's top antitrust authority, has expressed concerns about Vista, saying there was a risk that Microsoft could shut out competition in computer security by tying new security features into the system." Maybe Microsoft should just make a special European version that removes every single security feature from Vista, leaving it all up to Symantec. I bet that the EU would just love a Vista without any security running the continent. |

yeah - this one is enough to make a person ill.
forever, the planet has screamed, "secure your software." so, microsoft devises a very good, yet simple way to treat each pc, no matter how poorly operated, like an island fortress, but at the same time, enabling each such fort to effortlessly share files with desired peers. microsoft succeeds in doing this. as a reward for this, they get hauled into a foreign court...? as I said... it makes one ill. |

You can not serve two masters......or you try perhaps because one is bias?
The EU should recuse itself because of their anti-american bias, and tell these peoples to go have their legal fights in the US curts. Perhaps the complainers are afraid to do just that. |
