Looks to me like the paper has an error... it indicates that Protected Mode is for Vista Enterprise & Ultimate only, which is not the case.

My comment is not about IE7, but aabout a "protected mode" program that works perfectly with IE6. Greenborder Pro. I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago after reading about it in WSJ. It sets up an excellent virtualization sandbox that I haven't been able to get to fail yet. If IE6 is compromised under Greenborder just click "Clean and Reset" and adware, spyware and other malware vanishes. It's free for one year if downloaded and installed before July 28th.
