I am amazed at the total lack on inquiry on the part of the tech press as to what keeps the Mozilla "group" alive.
Let's recap: Programmers make between $60 and $130k a year here in the US - no one even knows how many programmers "work" on this software do they??? Servers to serve the download community for this "product" cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars Bandwidth to deliver the software over the Internet runs in the neighborhood of $35k to $40k a year for a T3 So, it begs the question. Who has the deep pockets and why are they doing this? This is particularly apropos given that after years of trying (Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox/etc.) the market share of this software is around 5%. What a colossal waste of money!!! Throwing good money after bad - the open sore movement . . . |

| #2: I guess you missed the story the other day about Firefox reaching 11% share. What keeps Mozilla alive is donated cash & resources from large companies that realize the benefit of open source. |
