Microsoft has provided WinInformant with a couple of shots of the new Windows Media Player 8, which they are told will debut in Windows XP after the release of Beta 2. Windows Media Player 8 integrates with the new "Whistler" user interface, providing this new look and feel in the player. | ||

| Well the new WMP8 look seems to be more than a skin. Sure the new codecs from MS sound interesting but don't forget they're planning to add several licensing rights to prevent the illegal distribution of copyrighted music so it may not be as flexible as MP3! |

| Yes WMP8 is much more than a simple skin. And yes i think it won't be available separately, but MS may release a stand alone version without this new look providing users the latest audio & video codecs and features for the best possible entertainment. For MSN Music.NET let's wait & see! |
