Microsoft today has posted new SKU specific Windows Vista Keys for builds 5308 and higher:
"Please help us test Home Basic, Home Premium and Business versions of Windows Vista! Beginning today you can request product keys that will allow you to install and activate any of these three editions as well as Ultimate. We would appreciate if you could install at least one of the above and provide us with some feedback. After we release the final product a fair amount of users will be running one of these three so please help us test them along side Ultimate. If you have already downloaded build 5308 you only need to get additional product keys to install the other versions you do not need to download anything else. All of them are contained in the single download image, just run setup and provide the appropriate product key. Thanks for your help! Paul Donnelly" | ||

I just went to Connect and I did not notice and new SKU's. My SKU for 5270 is for build 5270 and above.
Unless the connect site is changing things I did not get any emails from them. Robert... |

Why would I need to do this when my SKU is working with the newest build? Besides there is no way of telling which version that you are BETA Testing for them. I beleive all BETAS are Ultimate Editions anyhow. I will go to the CONNECT site now to check it out again. Belto... UPDATE AWBobStien, I just went to the Connect Site and now I get a totally different format when I request a new SKU. I suppose M$ is BETA Testing their new Scheme when you wish to upgrade your current version of Vista to a newer edition all you do is request the newer version either over the internent or landline and place the order in this way. You then place the order for the upgrade and then they either email or snail mail the new SKU and thus rendering the old SKU useless. Belto... Go to the Connect Site and apply to join the BETA, that is if they are still accepting applications. BETA testers cannot distribute the files.

| Sorry to say, zakiameer , but yes, you have wasted your time. The current version is 5308. It is feature complete. The r01 and r02 are rar files. You need winrar to extract the data from those files. |
