WASHINGTON--Monday marks the end for public comment about the Microsoft antitrust settlement, setting the stage for the final showdown between opponents and supporters of the deal. A wide range of groups and individuals have chimed in on the proposed settlement, with a vocal portion contending that the deal does not serve the public interest. The Justice Department has 30 days to respond to the comments and publish them in the Federal Register. | ||

"Microsoft is using its dominance in desktop operating systems to ensure anyone building a web service puts a Microsoft front-end on it. " What does that mean?
I build web services using VisualStudio .NET and they do not have Microsoft front end. In fact, the clients of the web services don't have any reason to know what tools I used to produce the code or anything else about the code. The Windows operating system has very little to do with .NET. .NET is an open architecture that is very user centric. The goal is your data, any time, anywhere ANY device. I don't know too many cell phones that use Windows. Also, PocketPC is also not a desktop OS. The author of this article doesn't seem to know too much about Microsoft technologies or that of the competition. |

#1. Absolutely! If Microsoft is not stopped, soon they will control both the horizontal and the vertical! They will be able to alter the focus, and adjust your volume! They will control all that you see and hear!
