Mr. Key Point, please don't be so narrow minded. YES, you can liken the products I mentioned to an OS. Why? Because automobiles, TVs, and game consoles ARE luxury items, and consumers frequently over-spend on them. They are "wants" not "needs". You don't need to pay $30k for an SUV, when a $13k sedan will satisfy your need. AND, you're correct, consumers don't know what makes said product better, nor do they care. They only know "Why buy a 21" when I can buy a Big Screen..." And that's exactly why XP will sell, and spark PC sales and upgrades. It's fundamental human behavior, and is exactly what drives the economy. BTW, I support 150 users, manage an NT Domain, Exchange & SQL servers, and program custom DB apps, and it's negative, "all users are idiots", dick-with-ears, such as yourself, that cause users to lose respect for support professionals. Maybe if you believed in those people a bit they would make yer frickin job a bit easier.
