I had a good laugh reading this, god where did zdnet find this guy? You would think with the bad economy all the scrubs that dont know jack would be weaded out...The article just makes no sense at all. In one point, the author says that if someone has oe5, and installs internet explorer 6.0 w/o outlook express 6, the system is still vulnerable. Hmm, let me think about this one. Ie6 just installs IE6 and some components. Last i heard IE6 didnt "patch" the system, thats what windowsupdate is for.
But my favorite comment is where he admits he is totally clueless:
"XP users will be prompted to install the updates automatically, be reminded later, or allowed to turn off the automatic feature for manual execution at a later time. It's a start, but I foresee a long boot session that involves downloading new files every time I turn on my PC, with multiple reboots lasting until all the new fixes are installed."
All i see is opinion, no fact to back it up. Windows xp has been out for 2 months, and yet its very obvious he's never used windows xp. I could understand a comment like that when windows xp was in beta, after all in beta a product changes a lot. But xp is final, and he should really do some research before making baseless comments. It's like a person whos never used a Ford writing an article about a Ford car! Why doesnt he just say "ive never used windows xp, but im writing this article on opinions ive heard from other websites". Bs article.
