I've always been an optimist and I suppose that is rooted in my belief that the power of creativity and intelligence can make the world a better place. For as long as I can remember, I've loved learning new things and solving problems. So when I sat down at a computer for the first time in seventh grade, I was hooked. It was a clunky old Teletype machine and it could barely do anything compared to the computers we have today. But it changed my life. | ||

i for one disagree will billy boy on this one. my experience over the years is that the most creative and interesting people use their mind and not any machine to create.
this is not to say that a machine can’t be an extension of the creative self, but in and of itself the computer is a machine at its heart and can never substitute for the human ingenuity. recall that the greeks had managed to determine the diameter of the earth without the help of even a calculator and when newton could no longer work physics problems he just sort of invented calculus. creativity is the key. it comes in all sorts of sizes and shapes from all sorts of minds. so bill… where is all that creativity coming out of redmond? |
