Microsoft is investigating a report of a new, unpatched flaw in Internet Explorer that could expose users of the ubiquitous Web browser to attacks. An attacker could craft a malicious Web site that takes advantage of the flaw and gain control over the PCs that visit the Web site or install malicious software on those systems, a representative of the French Security Incident Response Team (FrSIRT) said in an e-mail interview Wednesday. FrSIRT rates the issue "critical," its most serious classification. | ||

Yoohoo? Apologists, where are all of you and your witty comments today? I'd gotten used to the excuses, but there seems to be none forthcoming. I'm very disappointed. That's not how you properly protect the Borg mothership, is it? I'm here waiting for the inevitable "If [non-Windows OS] had the same marketshare, your box would be owned weekly as well" nonsense. Also, interesting part of the article.... "On Thursday morning, FrSIRT said the exploitable library is also installed with Microsoft Office 2002." Office 2002? Is this Office XP? I know of Office 95, 98, 2000, XP and 2003. |

My Windows boxes along with my UNIX and Linux ones have never been owned. Proper administration does wonders on all systems. Maybe MS admins spend all day trolling comment sections like yourself looking for linux or OS X fanatics to piss off. |
