MSN has silently released their Virtual Earth mapping solution over the weekend. Expect the media hype to start tomorrow, but we're happy to bring you this news a bit early. Give it a try - it's pretty slick stuff.
Update: MSN Virtual Earth will launch at 12:01 AM Eastern time on Monday morning. Channel 9 will have a video, too. Here's a video with the Virtual Earth team from back in May.
Update: Looks like Virtual Earth will be offline until tomorrow. Here's the scoop from Chandu Thota, a developer on the Virtual Earth team:
"Virtual Earth was live between 4 PM (PT) Saturday and 10 AM (PT) Sunday as part of our final cheks against our production systems; so we are now back offline as planned and be officially (beta) live on Monday. Our initial release is only limited to USA and we will follow up with other regions soon after that."
Update: For those looking to use MSN Virtual Earth in development, ViaVirtualEarth.com looks to be a vital resource. Most of the information won't be useable until the site goes live, but you can learn about it now.
