Microsoft denies its antispyware favors Claria | |

Microsoft is moving to quash claims that its antispyware tool is now giving preferential treatment to adware maker Claria. The beta version of Microsoft AntiSpyware previously recommended that users quarantine several products from Claria, but this changed last week. According to a statement published by Microsoft, the downgrade in threat level merely represents an effort to be "fair and consistent with how Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) handles similar software from other vendors." The news comes at a sensitive time, as Microsoft is reportedly in acquisition talks with Claria. | ||

| Claria's adware never was a serious threat, just a minor nuisance that is easily cleaned out. As long as its still "caught" by MS AntiSpyware Beta1 I see no reason to complain about their actions regarding the reassigned threat level. |

They can deny it all they want. They are lying.
One version of the def's marks it for deletion. The lastest marks it ignore. It's been tested. They HAVE given Claria the wave-by. TL |

Thanks for the link, but it's a page of gobbledegook that doesn't answer the question. Does a damn fine job of dancing around it though.
Microsoft - You can't answer a straight-forward question with the same type of lanquage that you use in your Eula's. People would actually like to _understand_ what you are saying. TL |
