Microsoft seeks Xbox touch for music | |

With little sign that Apple Computer's digital music dominance is on the wane, Microsoft's top Xbox executive is helping to look at ways to refocus the software company's music strategy. It's not officially a corporate reshuffle, and he definitely isn't giving up his duties launching the upcoming Xbox 360. But Senior Vice President Robbie Bach, a 16-year veteran of some of Microsoft's most successful projects, is starting to look more closely at ways to improve the company's position in the music business. As first reported in the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has asked Bach to help rethink the company's digital music strategy, currently fragmented among multiple divisions and a multitude of partners with different, often incompatible Windows-associated products. | ||

Hmmm . . . I guess you all missed this news: Apple Shares Dip on iPod Sales Reports - http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/43567.html . The stock market seems to think this may be true. Apple's shares are off 25% from their 52 week high!
The iPod, just another "innovation" on the part of Jobs that is to be quickly surmounted by competitiors. |

Ya just gotta love these hilarious predictions. Apple has been kicking everyone's ass with the iPod for nearly 4 years now. BTW... I believe it's only the iPod Shuffle that isn't selling well (and I could have predicted that). Apple's marketshare in online music actually climbed again. TL |

Of course, we also have this today too: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story.asp?guid=%7B40162010-EE27-4938-9B15-F8545A9D4D8C%7D&siteid=google And Apple is up 3.5% today at this point. Of course, Apple has been routinely moving up or down 5% daily... meaning they could be back at their 52-week high in 3 days. ANd, of course, we don't hear sh!t from any other device manufacturer or store... oh, except that Creative's profits plunged 75%!!! And, oh my, Apple is off 25%... Could it be that it's because they've soared over 400% in less than two years... How is MSFT doing? They aren't that far off their 52-week high, are they? Oh no, that's right.... They've been treading water between $25 and $30 for 5 years straight now! That's right! |
