Hollywood does not like it when outsiders play certain games. That was the message sent this week to Microsoft and its agents at the Creative Artists Agency by movie studios outraged at the aggressive proposal being shopped for the film version of the popular Xbox video game "Halo." | ||

#1: it would make more sense if you actually read the article. The Fox/Universal deal is not done, MS aren't getting the terms they demanded, and most of the big studios told them to shove it up their ass. Hence the title. Seems clear enough to me.

A more accurate title would be "Microsoft only get $5 million and 10% of the gross".

Parker, you mean "Microsoft only gets half of what they wanted for the script and none of their conditions"?
Who cares about game titles? Shamalan or whatever his name was the first screenwriter to get $5 million for an unsolicted script(and that was the piece of sh!t "Unbreakable"); Charlie Kaufman gets 2.5 million+. So, yes, this is in the area of "normal"... Bruckheimer for example routinely gets this money for his machine-generated stories. The question is: will this film produce the same results as other game titles? (In other words, be a complete failure.) My guess: probably. |

Yeah. I feel sorry for them. 600 million in sales for the game. Only 10% of the gross. Lots of publicity for Halo 3.
