Kevin Rose Leaving G4 to start Internet Only Show | |

Kevin Rose, one of the famous contributors and co-hosts of The Screen Savers, is leaving this week to concentrate on a new technology howto show called Systm. The Systm will be an internet-only show distributed free (as in beer AND speech) in a number of formats: Theora, Xvid, WMV, H.264, and PSP (what's that?). There will be bittorrent trackers available too! | ||

This show absolutely, positively DIED the day Leo Laporte left, and to a certain agree Pat.
Leo WAS that show. Period. He wasn't always right, but by golly he was entertaining :) TL |

She was the only one who had actually studied the science, or made any sense at all... The rest just tanked it and Laporte really lost it when he took on the role of on-air anti-Microsoft troll - he lost all objectivity and couldn't stay on subject....I recall one show where this was so apparent..."Harmony - MCE 2004 update was just released" and all Leo could go on and on and on and on and on about was whether/when XP would ship with its FW [the ICF] on by default. While perhaps important...it was not even close to relevant to the topic. This was way before XP SP2 and certainly symphony [MCE 2005]. I was like, "Leo...what's wrong with you....?" I rolled off and never tuned back in and apparently, so did many others. |

You are talkling about the _original_ Screen Savers. You are right. That WAS the best show. All Tech. No stupid interviews. 90 minutes long. Those were the good days. TL |
