#2 - I disagree as well.
I'm often forced to write C++ extended stored procedures for SQL Server 2000 to get the functionality and performance I need.
The ability to write these extended stored procedures in any .NET language will make my life a LOT easier, and will give me the ability to interop with a lot of my other code in ways there were either difficult or impossible before.
I'm really looking forward to Yukon... now, if only Microsoft would make SQL Server a real clustered-database player. As far as I'm concerened, that would make it the king of all relational database servers.
