Wired News reports that many Microsoft employees are choosing iPods over competing portable music players that use the Windows Media format. Drawing on an anonymous Microsoft manager as its source, the story reports that the trend concerns company executives to the point that employees are "hiding their iPods by swapping the telltale white headphones for a less conspicuous pair." The idea that the iPod is popular among Microsoft employees isn't exactly new or earthshaking. But the Wired News story has caused a minor stir, complete with a Slashdot post. | ||

I'm sorry, but if I worked at Microsoft and I had an iPod, I wouldn't be hiding it. In fact, I'd be displaying it promently out in the open. This is a free market and consumers are free to purchase products at their freewill. If anyone had a problem with it, I would simply explain all the reasons I chose the iPod over competing products. Maybe that would incite MS and other manufactures to work harder to make their products a superior choice for consumers... Wrong. You have chosen to use a format that is not compatible with the iPod. Use MP3 and nearly EVERY player on the market could use your service. See, it swings both ways. TL |

Just curious...what percentage of people dislike music, entirely?
I can't stand it - hurts - literally. It is primitive. I studied music for years - played piano until I was 19. I grew so frustrated - the number combinations were just not there - at least not ones that were truly unique. Cryptography was the answer - a different kind of music. I've never gotten the whole flap over music - no matter the issue. Does anyone else just dislike it? Does anyone know how large that number is? "Noise about noise..." ironic. The stuff just hurts and so much for a basic storage and retrieval device... clever at least - to charge so much for so little. Was just curious... |
