We should know, possibly as early as Friday, whether a European Union court will grant Microsoft a temporary reprieve in complying with sanctions specified by the European Commission in the ongoing EU vs. Microsoft antitrust case. The court will decide whether Microsoft will be required to offer immediately a European version of Windows that decouples the Windows Media Player module and to provide its competitors with more information designed to allow their products to better interoperate with Windows. Microsoft is arguing that it should not be required to comply until its appeal of the EC decision is decided.
