Intel (INTC) said Thursday that President Paul Otellini will become its next CEO — a change that could help the No. 1 chipmaker overcome recent missteps. Otellini, 54, will take over in May, when current chief Craig Barrett, 65, plans to retire. Barrett will become chairman. Current Chairman Andy Grove, 68, will become an adviser. | ||

Hal what planet have you been on? Intel has been on a loosing streak this entire year. The entire enthusiast market has gone to AMD. This is not the old days with people opting for AMD on a price performance ratio. AMD is making a flat out better processor at almost every price point.
The only shining light for Intel has been Centrino which is probably based on the P3 architecture. We’re talking about a 179 billion dollar company getting beat up by a much smaller upstart. Intel better get its act together (i.e. get out a great 64-bit dual core chip) or Dell will jump ship. If that happens by all means short your Intel stock ASAP. |
