Actually, it just shows the authors view on a recent blog entry.
It doesn't show how crappy the WinAPI is, it's still the best out ther in spite of the many alternatives. Everyone has an opinion...his is based on his needs at not a blind sensationalist biased mind. humor This post was edited by humor on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 03:42. |

Agreed, tools change, evolution happens....except for Linux, which is pretty much the same it has been since Linus released it on the net all those years ago.
Talk about stagnant, 1970s technology...look no further than Linux. |

But hey, you can run it on a 8088 processor in terminal mode...I bet Windows XP won't install on that. Microsoft sucks! </sarcasm>

Joel is interesting to read, but he has his own share of quirks and can sometimes be out of the technology loop. Good read, but you need to know enough yourself to tell when he's got a bad perception.
This article does a good job at explaining how it was Joel misinterpreted the various positions. Joel is kind of down on .NET, and I'm not sure why. I think some people are afraid of change. I know how that is, and until you get it and understand why it is, you are skeptical. That's ok, but just understand where he is coming from. msucks - Can the MAC OSX run .NET apps yet? |
